Why the hell should they apologise? For a start, it may well have been bitterness over her success and good looks rather than any actual racism. If she had been an ugly, stupid and talentless Indian she would have fitted in perfectly with the rest of the housemates and there wouldn't have been any bitchiness.
More importantly, if it actually WAS racism, I can't say I watched it to judge myself, but if it was, why on earth should Channel 4 apologise? They are doing a service if they are showing your average non-caucasian in Britain can expect to be abused because of their race, and any censorship is nothing but an attempt to cover up/hide the problem and prevent them from further exposing it in future.
I think Big Brother should be accountable, not channel 4. Saying that I don't know a lot about it as I think shows like Big Brother are really bad tv so didn't watch it and haven't paid too much attention.
I also think this whole debacle isn't even too bad as it's hopefully raised awareness on racist issues.

I don't think there was alot of racism,
They took one saying, the "f**k off home" bit and turned it into some huge racial thing as if it was the only thing going on in the house,
tbh, things got way out of control over one small incident.
But channel 4 and big brother do have a habit of putting totally different personalities into the house to cause entertainment in any way possible, and their form of entertainment is that they usually try to get a few people into the house who they know will argue and not get along. _________________ stejens
What's racism and what isn't is all PR theory, comes down to rule one: what can you get away with?
I don't see why Channel4 should be punished for allowing idiots to break rule one and hang themselves. If celebrity is anything, it's working your audience. Live or die by that.
But that's a superficial analysis, isn't it? C4/BB quickly knew that Jade, the Steps girl and the ugly model were pawns. Shilpa (a canny girl) and BB played them, got them to make mistakes according to the fundamental theorem of celebrity. C4 won viewers and got a smack on the wrist, Shilpa won magazine covers and got mauled by Richard Gere. Jade, Steps and Ugly now have depleted stacks.

You must have missed the bit where they were discussing if she lived in a shack and ate with her hands and then decided that they didn't want to eat any food she prepared just in case it wasn't clean.
Breathtakingly ignorant and racist.

As far as I know C4 has a public service obligation not to broadcast material that is likely to perpetuate racism. It would certainly be a good idea if the public money they get came with that stipulation.

Wasn't racist all from what clips I saw and they were supposed to be the sensationalist clips.
Was on the news yesterday that the worst bits were never shown.

I think this was why they are being punished, but in terms of what other people have written. Isn't all racism basically just ignorance and stupidity? _________________ Jon "the British cowboy" Woodfield

How does showing a bunch of arseholes behaving like c****s perpetuate racism? Quite clearly the opposite has resulted, Ofcom's reaction is in my opinion more likely to do that.

Like it or not the 3 ignoramuses do have "fans" of a kind, young girls who flick through the crap magz looking at pictures of these idiots and actually admire them (it's a sad planet) Best thing to do is switch off to this whole story, it only makes me angry.
I think it's obvious that C4 have some responsibility but I don’t think they would have been aware of the extent of the inherent bigotry of these 3 ugly sour bints, the plus side is great I hardly ever see kebab flange and the other 2 fish wives on the box anymore. Shilpa is still knocking about but I don’t mind that. C4 should not edit out scenes, it's the only part of BB that's worth watching, if it happens it should be shown, the entrants know the score.
