The Hendon Mob Database Has Its 100,000th Player

Unknown Brazilian becomes part of Hendon Mob history.

The Hendon Mob Poker Database – the number 1 source for live poker tournament results – now contains details of over 100,000 poker players with over 300,000 tournament cashes between them! And we are asking for help in tracking down the man who recently became our 100,000th player by cashing in the Latin American Poker Tour at Uruguay’s Punta del Este.

The Mob Database launched online in September 2004, having spawned from what was originally nothing more than a form guide with biographies for less than a hundred Late Night Poker players. It seems absurd now but less than five years ago there was no database where you could look up the worldwide results of poker players and see their lifetime earnings and historical results. The Mob Database was revolutionary.

Now, just 4 and a half years on, the World’s most comprehensive Poker Player Database has from those modest beginnings become the No. 1 resource for live poker tournament players and results. Historical information from Cardplayer Magazines (for which we are most grateful) going back to the 80s, data from casinos and card rooms across the world, other partners and, perhaps the most valuable source, feedback and information from so many poker players and fans who use the database. That’s the reason why you won’t find such a complete set of results for World Series of Poker* events, going all the way back to the original 1970 event, anywhere else. From players letting us know about their local card room’s opening night tournament where they made their first final table to cash £100, to household names such as Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Todd Brunson and Scott Nguyen, thousands of people have contributed to the database to get it where it is today.

Our 100,000th player was Felipe Ivar of Brazil. If Felipe or a friend is reading this, we would love to have a photograph to join the 15,000+ photos already in the Database and to give him a little something as our 100,000th player.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the card room staff, tournament organisers, photographers, those who have worked on the database over the years and users who have all helped make the Database what it is today. We’ll have something very special lined up for our 250,000th player and with hundreds of new players and results being added every week, that will come sooner than you might think! Who knows, with poker now so popular, it would be no surprise if at some point we’ll be announcing our millionth registered player.
