The Prima Poker Tour

The Mob has landed. When we left Hendon yesterday it was ninety degrees, Friends was on the TV and everyone was talking about some bloke in a giant Tupperware box with no food in it, living only on water. When we arrived in Vegas it was ninety degrees Friends was on the TV and everyone was talking about whether Joe would attempt to beat his record for staying in one Black Jack box subsisting entirely on Crystal Champagne.
But there will be no such excesses as The Tour kicks off tomorrow with the Pot Limit Omaha and Joe wanted me to mention that he was in the gym at seven this morning and had a big plate of fruit for his breakfast. Don’t let anyone tell you that poker is not a sport!
Bonnie Damiano, tournament producer at the Four Queens tells us that numbers are up on last year and she has been delighted with the festival so far. She is expecting over 100 for the main event which will mean prize money in excess of half a million dollars. Ram has already challenged the winner to a heads up double or quits but Ross probably won’t take him up on it!
I’m gonna spend the day by the pool if I can stand the ’easy listening’ piped music. I've never been to Vegas at this time of year before. The weather is better than in May (slightly cooler) and there seem to be a lot of sparrows about. Ross has just taught me how to tell male and female sparrows apart, so it’s already been a fruitful day.
The poker stories begin tomorrow, but there’ll be no ‘Poker Stories’ if you get what I mean.
